Necklaces

Necklaces have been worn by men and women throughout the ages as decorations, status symbols, and in some cases as a symbol of rank. Evidence of necklaces more than 75,000 years old have been found in Africa.

Primitive necklaces featured items such as animal teeth, claws, stones, shells, twine, and feathers. Beads were ornamental and attractive and beads were also used to barter and trade very much like currency in many ways.

Now, of course, there are so many different types of necklaces that say all kinds of different things about the wearers. Some are full of pearls and are worth thousands of dollars. Others are made to resemble dog collars and can be purchased for only a few dollars.

Regardless of what necklaces you wear, the idea has been around for quite some time and has been worn by many others previously.
